The Thermal Engineering Laboratory (TEC) is accredited under requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 as a testing laboratory  (No. AB1632) by the Polish Center for Accreditation (PCA) as part of the scope of  European Accreditation Multilateral Agreement (EA MLA) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation  (ILAC-MRA) in fields and subjects ot tests:

A/5-Acoustic tests of building products, building items,
J/5-Mechanical tests of building products, building items,
N/5-Tests of physical properties of building products, building items.

The laboratory is an EU notified  body and is included in the list kept by the European Commission in the NANDO database (New Approach Notified and Designated Organizations) under the number NB 2919

The Laboratory is also recognized by TÜV Rheinland.

For thermal measurements the Laboratory has got a calorimetric chamber with two independent rooms where it is possible to maintain the set temperature parameters from -18 ° C to + 50 oC with adjustable humidity and precise heat balance of each part of the calorimeter. The chamber is additionally equipped with a measuring system, control system, acquisition and processing of measurement data. The calorimetric chamber allows to perform normative tests of thermal resistance and heat transfer coefficients of building partitions: curtain walls, windows, doors, roof windows, windows or skylights protruding beyond the face of partitions and doors, window frames, doors, their combinations with glazing, blinds, shutter boxes using a calibrated method and a shielded heating box.

In the chamber, normative tests commissioned by the industry were made: windows, roof windows, roof hatchways, window frames, blinds and curtain walls.

The accredited PCA Laboratory uses Advanced, commercial computer program Ansys Fluent for numerical calculation of heat and fluid flow through geometric models, eg curtain walls, glazing, windows, doors, roof windows, windows or skylights protruding beyond the face of partitions, sections window frames, doors, their connections with glazing, blinds, blind boxes.

The laboratory is also equipped with laboratory equipment for testing end elements and regulating ventilation systems (supply and exhaust grates, diffusers for closing and regulating throttles) as well as ventilation and air-conditioning units in the field of mechanical and acoustic tests and characteristics of constituent elements.
